JUST IN: PRESIDENTS TO BE APPOINTED IN THE 2020 ELECTIONS DUE TO COVID-19.

The President for the Student Representative Council of Oxford institute of Business and Journalism-Kumasi, Mr. Wilson Azaaba has declare this year's SRC election to be done by appointment due to Covid-19.

As a result of the novel coronavirus, aspirants for the 2020 SRC position in Oxford institute will omit voting and hence go by the appointment method of choosing a leader.

Mr. Wilson made this clear to the entire student body in a meeting held at 12pm today October 20, 2020 after a similar information was released by the SRC Gen. secretary, Miss. Mahalia Madison Doris through WhatsApp on October 4, 2020.
"Students interested in running for a position in the appointment are required to submit their names to the SRC secretary and wait for further directives" Madison noted.

The President also stated that, The outgoing SRC executives in collaboration with the Administrative board are deciding as on when an aggressive vetting will be done for the incoming executives by the close of this month, October.

Students are mandated to raise their concern to the academic board and SRC for further clarifications.

MINISTER WARN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS AGAINST INCREASING OF FEES

The Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwesi Yankah, has ordered the management of the various public universities not to increase school fees for the 2020/2021 academic year. Prof. Yankah made this clear when speaking to Citi News on the sidelines of the “Transforming Teacher Education and Learning Program” by the National Council for Education. "The recurrent increase in fees is worrying" He stated. He said, he was rather surprised and abhorred about the arbitrary increases which appear to be recurrent almost every year and hence, any increase in fees without parliamentary approval would be unlawful. NEWS IN: OXFORD INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM TO HOLD ORIENTATION FOR FRESHERS

Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism, together with the Students' Representative Council (SRC) has scheduled to hold an Orientation and Freshers' night for first year students right at the school's premises on Friday, March 19, 2021. This educative and entertaining program is specifically organised for first year students to help them feel exited about beginning another level of education and also nourish their transition to campus life and the independence that accompanies it. The core content of this event is to serve as an opportunity for students to learn how things work within the school's domain. Orientation will start at 11:00am promt, while Freshers' night takes place at exactly 07:00pm till mama calls. Students are therefore entreated to be present on time.
