CORONAVIRUS: GHANA'S COVID-19 CASES RISES TO OVER 80K

Information released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) as of Sunday, February 21, 2021 estimate that the confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ghana has balloon to over 80,000.

This has been updated after recording another 598 positive cases on the pandemic with 577 recorded deaths in the country.

Currently, Ghana's total covid-19 cases officially stands at 80,253 leaving 6,658 persons in critical conditions whiles discharged patients accelerates to 73,018.

The country awaits it's safekeeping of vaccine by the close of this month for vaccination to be in progress by March, 2021.

ANOTHER BLACK STAR CONTINGENT TESTED POSITIVE TO COVID-19

Ghana international, Jordan Ayew has tested positive for Coronavirus after Crystal Palace’s manager, Roy Hodgson confirmed the news on Sunday October 18, 2020. Hodgson revealed this to journalists following Palace’s 1-1 draw with Brighton in the Premier League.  Ayew, 29, did not make the team for the clash against Brighton and it seems his positive test for COVID-19 is the reason behind his omission from the team list. The striker becomes the sixth Ghanaian to contract the virus after the Black Stars’ friendlies games against Mali and Qatar.   Bernard Mensah, Gideon Mensah, Caleb Ekuban, Joseph Aidoo, and Kassim Nuhu, who were all part of the Ghana team, have tested positive since the friendlies.
