NEWS IN: NDC MP RESIGNS FROM APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE



The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has delivered a resignation letter to withdraw from Parliament’s Appointments Committee.

This bacame public after, Mr. Okudzeto addressed his profound statement to the incumbent Speaker of parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin in a letter dated 30th March, 2021 where he elucidated that his action follows after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations.

It is unclear as to why this eloquent and dedicated member of the Committee who takes nominees especially through rigorous CV scrutiny is stepping down. But he added in the letter that, the core reason for his resignation is both personal and principle.


Mr. Samuel further indicated that nor matter what may, he wouldn't be available for the vetting of President Akuffo Addo's nominees for ministrial position.

The former deputy minister of education has therefore advised the Speaker, Mr. Bagbin to take into account his resignation and take immediate effect.
